Today i woke up at 10plus as it is also free and easy. Cynthia woke up before me and was blogging when i woke up. I took a bathe and waited for the rest who went to Walmart to get some stuff to return. They did not want to go out to shop as it was raining so Cynthia, Ling Li & I went out together. We took a bus to 汉正街 as it is shophouses instead of street stalls so it is still open when it is raining. We shopped for a while and find that the things there does not really suit our age group so we decide to go to 江汉路 to shop. We had lunch at a fastfood restaurant called Dicos as we wanted to try fastfood that is not available in singapore. The food there are very different and they serve rice. We were quite full after the meal and decided to go shopping. We wanted to shop the street stalls but due to the bad weather, we assume that the street stalls will not open for the day. We walked in the shopping malls and i bought a comb for my grandma. The comb is made of the horn of an ox which is believe to benefit the human body and aid in blood circulation. We were bored after walking in 1 shopping mall and decided to try our luck at the street stalls. Some stalls were opened but the number is less than 20. We shopped for our individual stuff and Cynthia came to look for me out of a sudden and told me she was being pickpocketed. I thought she was joking as i saw her holding on to her wallet but her bag was cut open. I laughed and told her not to joke and it is not funny but she was very serious so i knew that it really happened. She broke down and told us that while she was shopping a guy cut opened her bag and tried to steal her wallet. He got hold of her wallet and was about to run off with it. Luckily, Cynthia was alert and immediately shouted at the guy. She manage to get back her valuables and did not lose anything but she had a fright as we did not expect such stuff to happen after all the precautions we took. She placed her sling bag in front and we did not expect to be a target. We took a cab back and shorten out trip.

Personal Reflection:

I feel that after the incident, we are all very wary of people who accidentally bump into us or what as we are afraid such incidents may happen again. We did not expect such things to happen as we place our bags in front instead of behind. We ensure that we took precautions but we also get pickpocketed. I feel that it is very dangerous and not safe but i also feel that it may be also due to our own neglect that we did not take good care of our own belongings.
