Day 10

Today we woke up at 7.20 as usual and were prepared by 8.00pm. We need to assemble at 8.10pm ourside our dormitories. We are going sight seeing at yellow crane tower and the scenery there was beautiful. We took lots of pictures there. Group photos, Team photos and solo shots. The best place for photo taking was in the park at 步行街 where the beautiful flower backdrop was perfect for photoshoots. We saw at least 3 pairs of couple taking their wedding pictures there and we tried imitating their poses. At yellow crane tower, the tour guide told us about the story behind this tower and why it is named yellow crane tower. I was facinated by the tale behind it as i like fairytales. The yellow crane is drawn by lui dong bin of the 8 immortals as a thank you gift to the owner of the yellow crane restaurant for providing him food for almost half a year without asking him to pay up. The yellow crane was drawn on the wall and lui dong bin who was then disguised as a taoist monk told the owner that customers who enter his restaurant will be entertained by the dancing crane that he drew on the wall. The owner find it hard to believe at first but after the monk left, the crane on the wall really came to life and helped him with his business. After 10 years, lui dong bin came back and asked for the return of the bird as he think that the owner had earned enough to pay his food that he ate for half a year. That is how yellow crane tower came about. We returned to campus after the one day sight seeing tour ended and i took a bathe. We went to get our dinner and returned to campus for the day. Miss Neo came over to look for us and join us when she heard our laughter downstairs. The china students say tomorrow is going to be raining and i wonder where can we go to if the weather is bad.

Personal Reflection:

I feel that today we can be more active in our participation in the guided tour explaination. As most of us are quite sleepy, we slept on the bus and were rather reluctant to get down when we reached the final tourist attraction. Most of us rather stay on the bus and sleep. However, we got down and walk around after reflecting upon ourselves. We did not regret getting down as they scenery there was wonderful. At the yellow crane tower, we were busy snapping pictures so we did not really listen to the tour guide's explanation other than on the bus where she explained the brief introduction of the yellow crane tower's history. Also, when the tour guide sang a song to bring up our spirits we were still quite down and not participative when she asked for our responses. After reflecting upon myself today, I feel that we should show the china tour guide

our singapore spirit and not leave a bad impression that singapore students are a boring bunch and not lively at all.
