Exchange rate

The money we change

China ATM

Today we did not have any lessons nor excursions so we slept till quite late before we wake up and head out. Cynthia and i went to the backstreet to get our brunch and we head out to take a bus to 步行街. We head to the bank of china to change some currency as our money ran out already. We took a bus to 汉正街 as the streets in 步行街 have not opened yet. We walked around 汉正街 but the shops there are very different from the ones in 步行街.They closes at around 5plus and so we are forced to return back to 步行街. Soon Ling & I bought a hand carry duffle bag to put our stuff and 2 stockings. We had dinner at Macdonalds where i ordered a chicken teriyaki burger. We took a mini cab which cost rmb$7. It is the kind of cab which you see in thailand. The journey was very rocky and Soon Ling held on to me tightly as she's afraid she may fall off the cab. We finally reached our destinations safely and we head to 步行街 to shop. Cynthia and I went to have our nails done and it cost rmb$45 for a set of fake nails. Many of us intend to buy some sets back to Singapore. We spent quite some time at the stall. When we are about to leave, we heard some people speaking fluent english and were curious who are they.We looked over and discover that they are also Ngee Ann students from EE. We took a photo with them and head back to our campus for the day

Personal Reflection:

It is a very funny feeling when you meet people of the same country of origin when you are in a different country. You will feel a sense of warmth and security when you meet people from Singapore. I had this odd feeling today when i met the EE people and even though we are complete strangers, i feel that we have this close bond that we know each other for quite some time.
