Today I woke up at 11am as the china students told us to assemble at 12pm. Everyone can finally take a longer nap and rest well as there are no lessons tomorrow. Everyone slept till very late and skipped breakfast. When we are done washing up, we went to have our brunch which is lunch plus breakfast. We had our brunch at 堕落街. The china students accompanied us to get our brunch and we decided to take a cab over to 步行街. The weather was bad and it was drizzling when we reached 步行街. We wanted to shop at the streets but due to the bad weather, the stallholders did not put up their stalls so we could not shop. We went to the various shopping centers there to try stay indoors and to find A grade branded stuff as most of us want to buy. Ron was looking for A grade Louis Vuitton Wallet so we went around looking for it. The weather was horrible yesterday as the wind was so strong that many of us were shivering as we did not have enough clothes on. Our faces were numb and cold from the wind and rain droplets. We tried to stay indoors and spent time walking around the shopping malls. We did not buy anything as the stuff there was expensive and not as cheap as on the streets. It may be due to the high rent in the shopping malls. We decided to go back to duo luo jie to buy our dinner when we did not feel like having fast food again and so we crossed a bridge and went to flag a cab. My group took a metered cab while the rest took those private cabs. Our taxi fare came up RMB$28 while the others paid RMB$30 and RMB$35 respectively. I bought fried rice at 堕落街 and return to our bunks to eat. I feel that today we wasted on our transport expenses as we did not buy anything at 步行街 as the streets were not opened.

Personal Reflection:

I had a sudden reflection upon myself today that we are slowly adapting to the lifestyle of the china people. We are starting to learn their habits of having their breakfast on our way to classes. We walk and eat like the locals do. I also notice that our accent is slowly starting to resemble the locals. I feel that when one comes to a country, one should be flexible and learn to adapt into the culture of the locals. I feel that we should learn the good habits from the locals and refrain from learning their bad habits.
