Day 4

Today we met up at around 12.30 with the china students as we are all exhausted from yesterday's trip and they wanted to give us extra time to rest as they see that most of us are quite tired out. We settled our breakfast ourselves with the buns we bought yesterday at a bread shop. We took a cab down to 中山公园 where there is a theme park and took several group photos there as the scenery there is very beautiful. While making our way there on foot, 2 men in M&N costumes came to approached us and requested to take a picture with me.They presented me with a rose after taking a picture with them. I believe they have some promotional functions going on. Then, they also requested to take a group photo with us. We also took group pictures with the china students at the park. We head to the theme park to play after taking pictures. In total, I've spent RMB$60 just on the rides. First, we went on a ride on the roller coaster which costs RMB$25 for an approximately 2mins ride. We had ice cream after the roller coaster ride and it was superb cool to have ice cream in the cold as the ice cream does not melt. Then, we head to play the swing and several other rides. I felt very faint after the last ride as it kept spinning and spinning. I almost wanted to vomit when the ride ended. Most of the others also felt uncomfortable after the ride. The wind was very strong when we were playing the most of the rides. Luckily, I have worn enough clothing as Lingli from my team was freezing as she did not have gloves with her. After playing for half a day, we were quite exhausted already so we head down to have dinner at fullerton to have buffet. It costs RMB$53 after a discount of RMB$5. The buffet dinner is very different from the fullerton we have in singapore. The food was average but very filling. We cracked jokes and had fun when we were dining. After dinner, we took a bus 588 back to campus which cost RMB$2. We told the china students to return back to their dorms first as i believe they are very tired after such a long day already and we feel bad taking up more of their precious time. We went to 堕落街 to shop a while and get some hot drinks. I bought a backpack for RMB$35. The material was very filmsy but for the price i'm paying i think it is quite worth it.

Personal Reflection:

I feel that today I have learnt a lot on the difference in the preference of food between china people and singapore during the buffet dinner. The china students do not really like raw food and they are shocked when they saw us ordering salmon sashimi and even asked us if we are intending to eat it raw just like that. On our part, we are also amused that they do not eat sashimi. From that, I assume that most of the Japanese restaurants in Wuhan do not serve sashimi as the locals are not quite open to eating things raw. I feel that the china students have a very open mindset and they are very polite as they did not reject us when we nudged them to try the raw salmon sashimi. They were very sporting and also did not express dislike after trying a teeny bit of salmon. I feel that we should learn from them and always have an open mind set in everything we do as it would definitely broaden our knowledge when we try new things.
