A drink titled Coming to Singapore!!~

Today we have lessons as usual at 9am and we woke up at 8.10am. The weather was super cold and I wore my thick winter jacket again. We ate the cake we bought yesterday for breakfast and drank plain water. It is raining when we left our dorms and luckily Cynthia brought her umbrella with her or we will have to return back to our rooms to get it. The wind was so strong that we had a hard time trying to hold on to the umbrella. There were puddles of water on the floors and we had to avoid stepping on it so that we do not get wet. We finally reached our classroom after a long walk. We were all drenched but luckily the room was warm so we were not that cold anymore. We started on chapter 6 on PERT and it was all about formulae, like math. After that we did 1 assignment and we took a break for lunch. I went to 堕落街 to buy lunch for Cynthia and Ling Li who wanted to stay in class to do their stuff. It was freezing outside and I bought a bowl of piping hot noodles called 煲面. It costs RMB$7 which is considered quite expensive for street food. The soup has a lot of MSG and it is very salty. After lunch, we continued lessons at 1pm and we did another assignment and practical 5. After that, Miss Neo briefed us about our final report etc and released us for the day. I went back to my bunk to bathe and rest till around 5. We discussed whether to go to the restaurant that our china friend introduced to us the previous time and the guys all expressed interest so we took off and went to 建设二路’s greenery café for dinner. It is restaurants which specialize in steaks and western cuisine. The ambience of the restaurant is very cool, very westernized and not something you expect to find in china. The waiters were very helpful but the bad thing is we had a hard time trying to translate how we want our steak to be done as they only understand mandarin. The menu is very cool and we saw a drink on the menu called Coming To Singapore. Our bill came up to RMB$395 and we also order 菠萝包 as takeaway for supper. We head back to the hostel and rest.

Personal Reflection:

Today Miss Neo told us about our final report and what we need to put in. She also mentioned that we are ambassadors of Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Singapore so our actions will directly affect the way the china people think of us. She mentioned that when we are travelling on the cruise and when we are sightseeing, the tour guide keep asking us to hasten our pace, 学子们加快脚步. Miss Neo also feedback to us that the china teacher asked her whether we Singaporeans are so slow paced as we do thing so slowly, 慢条斯理. I think we gave them the wrong impression and from today onwards we should be very wary of our actions as they look upon us to understand Singaporeans. We may give them a wrong or bad impression and this may affect our fellow countrymen. Thus, from today onwards, we should show the china students that Singaporeans are not slow paced and that what they saw previously is false.
