Day 2

Today is superb cold. Weather is 3degrees to -6degrees and it's freezing when they took us out to look around and show us to important places such as the canteen and their own campus clinic which i think is so cool. I didn't have enough sleep yesterday as i guess i'm still not used to the temperature and the living conditions so i'm superb sleepy today. We were shown where our classrooms would be at and we were also taken around to look at the staffroom. The view at the staffroom is breath taking. We had lunch at the canteen of wuhan university. I ordered a bowl of dumplings using the card Miss Neo distributed to us for the purchase of food and water in wuhan's university. It was piping hot and it helped to warm me down a little. I was wearing 5layers of clothings and it wasn't sufficient. I guess i'm not used to the weather conditions there. Am intending to get a windbreaker over the weekend as it's quite cheap. After lunch, it was free and easy for us so we called the china students and asked if they are free to bring us around. They told us they have lessons till 4pm so they are only free after their lessons. Therefore, we head to the shopping centre nearby which they brought us to yesterday and shop around till 4pm. We met them at the campus and they brought us to have dinner at a nearby restaurant which cost around 300RMB for a table of 12. The food is okay there. Some dishes are the same as Singapore's. After having dinner, we took a cab down to a shopping mall and went to an amusement park there and played till it closes for the day. Tomorrow is also free & easy so we will be meeting the china students at 9.30am for them to bring us around. Hopefully, the weather is fine and we can do some shopping tomorrow. There is approximately 50% chance of snowing tomorrow. On one hand, I wish to see snow as i have never seen snow before but on the other hand i would not want it to be snowing tomorrow as the weather today is already freezing.

Personal Reflection:

I feel that the china students are very welcoming and friendly as after a long full day of lessons they still have to entertain us and bring us around. They never once complained or show their unhappiness in front of us that they are bored or what when they brought us around. I think that they have the right attitude and that it's something that we should learn from them. I also learnt about the way the china students dine is very different from singapore. In singapore, we have our rice and dishes all at the same time. However, in china, the people normally eat the dishes first and they only serve rice at a much later time where most of the dishes are out already. They only eat rice when there are not full from a meal. This is one of the thing i found interesting in our conversation when we are dining together. We discussed about the differences and similarity on our dining etiquette while waiting for the dishes to be served.
